Isabella Hanger was the daughter of John Hanger and Catherine Wehrle Hanger. Private records indicate that John Brown Hanger was born to John and Catherine February 1826. John Hanger, their three year old son is documented as dying March 26, 1826, along with his mother and grandmother, Catherine Dull Hanger. However, Isabella's headstone marking her grave at Old Providence ARP Church in Spottswood, Virginia list her date of birth as March 10, 1826.  

Three year old John's headstone cannot be located but was recorded by earlier researchers with a date of death of March 26, 1826. 

John Brown Hanger lists his date of birth on his military registers as 1826.
